Dudley’s first Carers strategy was developed in 2007, revised in 2010 and 2012-2013, with its implementation overseen by the Carers Strategy Group.  The introduction of the Care Act 2014 and Children and Families Act 2014 has significantly changed the rights of carers.  .

 

Dudley Carers Alliance are currently developing a new strategy to reflect issues carers face today, their concerns and aspirations.  The strategy will identify key aims an priorities in developing support for carer across the borough.

ABOUT US

 

Most people in their lifetime are likely to be affected by, or have an experience of caring for someone. The 2011 Census identified some 38,000 carers living across Dudley borough. This figure is however likely to be much higher as many people with caring responsibilities don’t identify themselves as ‘carers’, these people are sometimes referred to as ‘hidden carers’.
